June 23rd - Pontoon boatin' on Long Lake!!!

A day out on the lake....  I had been wanting to do this for awhile but we just never looked into it until this weekend, renting a pontoon boat for a day out on the lake.  I knew the kids would love it and it would be a great way for Lawson to get her crew out too.  I have a few friends who work at the Marina and set us up with a brand new boat, tube, etc.  It was awesome!

We got out on the water around 9:30am and the lake was glass.  It was slightly overcast at first but the sun came through and it ended up being hot!  The kids were loving it, especially driving under the causeway and seeing the big crane!  The boat was huge so the kids could move around and it was so comfy too.  We slowly pushed our way to the north end of Long Lake until we found a nice sandbar to anchor at.  It was an unbelievable spot, sandy, warm water and just perfect for the kids.  They were so excited and we all splashed around until someone came over and told us we couldn't be there....oh well.

We ended up just driving up and down the lake, stopping to float and swim for a bit too.  Tuck really wanted to go tubing and ended up loving it!  I was so proud of him!

At one point while we were just hanging out, a severe thunderstorm/flash flood warning came across the radio for the afternoon.  We decided to head back to the marina area and hang around on that side of the causeway in case the weather changed drastically.  It did, but not for another 3 hours.

A huge front of dark, black clouds approached and when we hit our last sun spell, we slowly packed up and headed back to the marina.  We were on the water from 9:30-3:30 and it was the perfect day, so much fun!

The kiddos were beat so we drove home and decided to make dinner and chill there.  We had a good downpour and some big rumblings for the evening...plus super tired kids!   The big kids were tired too so we just sat on the couches, watched a little tv and told super funny stories from back in the day!

Tuck took this picture of his tackle box all by himself.  He got a hold of my camera and took some really interesting pictures, he did a nice job.  I thought the tacklebox picture was fitting, especially since he made sure it was in the shade...
On a total random side note...Mimi was telling Tucky about all the changes that they were doing to the farmhouse and Tuck said, "Yeah Mimi, I have change too."  He was holding a bag of coins....  haha

June 22nd - Storyland w/Lawson's crew

Storyland 2012!

summary....

Daddy had to work so Derek joined us!!  Luckily he did because Tucky had a personal escort for all the rides!  Brooklyn was 1/4" too short for the big rides but she was content watching and riding the other ones.  It was really, really, really hot out, despite the forecast of being cooler than the last two days.  The kids loved it and had so much fun together!  Tucky and Audrey get along so well and are so cute!

Brooklie's baby joined us for the day and spent some time in, on top of, under and beside the stroller.  A few times baby rolled off the stroller and everyone around gasped and then I said, "it's not real..."

We spent a good amount of time there but the heat was tough on the kiddos and we called it a day around 2pm.  Derek was so good with the kids, especially Tucky, we really enjoyed having him come with us!

We hit major rainstorm showers on the way home, which probably helped naptime a little in the car.  The kids played outside all afternoon once we got home and loved the big puddles.  What a day!

June 21st - swimming, so HOT

Another hot day...

We enjoyed a little Play-doh time on the deck while it was cool.  The kids are so creative, they love projects.  Tucky made me some spaghetti using brown and black Play-doh, he even put it in a bowl and got a fork for me.  Brooklyn was rolling big snakes that she could cut.
It got real hot, real fast and we went out in search of a swimming spot.  Tucky wanted to go to Tassletop Beach in Raymond, but it was full and we couldn't get it.  So we headed a little further north and went to Sebago Lake State Park, I'd never been.  It was great, sandy and plenty of space.  The kids had a ball in the water, getting braver each time we go.  We'll hit this spot again.

My little ones are still pretty tired from all the end of year excitement so they almost fell asleep on the towel.  I took this as a cue to head home and Brookie took a great nap in the car.  This weather is brutal!
The exciting part of the day was that Jess Lawson and her husband and two little girls came to visit.  They're staying for a few days too.  We haven't seen her in over 7 years and it is so nice to reconnect!!!!  She has two girls, Audrey 3 1/2 and Victoria 15 mos.  The kids hit it off instantly and we got to start on the old stories!
