April 29th - Sleepover at Nahne's, playing at home

Lots of outside playtime today, despite the winds and cold temps.  It's hard keeping these kiddies inside.  Tuck loves playing ball with Nahne's dogs and spent a lot of time playing in her backyard.  At home, and after some great naps, the kids played on the swing set for hours.  They both love to swing and Daddy hung out a lot with them.

We also rode bikes, played in the sandbox and played on the dirt hill out back.  Mommy bought some groceries and had some fun snacks for them when they came in.  We also tried out pattern blocks and Tuck was able to create the sample drawing I gave him.  Brooklyn used all the yellow hexagons and we had a big discussion about tessalations.  So funny, they always drop a syllable when saying these kinds of words, it's really cute.  Tucky also insisted on "fishing for numbers" with Brooklyn and they found all sorts of numbers 1-20, yeah teacher's kids I know.

April 28th - friend's birthday party

Tuck's buddy Jude was turning 4 and we got to go to his birthday party over in Brunswick.  Sage and Sam were there of course so both he and Brooke had lots of kids to play with.  They played inside and out but really loved the sandbox, the bounce house and riding bikes.  Jude also had a surprise visit from Otto the Moose!  Brooklyn fared much better than I thought she would and Otto gave all the kids stuffed Otto's to bring home too!

At one point while everyone was outside playing, a little girl was showing Otto how to do the rope swing.  He tried and got an antler stuck against a tree and needed some assistance to stand back up.  Tuck was behind him playing in the sandbox and was looking on curiously.  Well, a few minutes later when the kids were saying good-bye to the moose, Tuck said aloud, "That's not a moose, it's a person, I saw his head."  I tried to jump in and tell him it was a moose and he said, "No it's not Mommy, I know."  Yikes, luckily not too many others heard him.

The kids were tired around naptime and wanted to go to Nahne's house for a sleepover again so we did.  I dropped them off and ran to meet Jay to look at another house.  We're getting closer but it's so much easier and less stressful for the kids when they don't have to go.  Plus, they get lots of attention and have way more fun with Nahne, Mimi and Pops.

Tuck is notably absent from the picture with Otto, Brooke and I because when I asked him to come join us he replied, "No Mommy, I have important work to do."  So he kept digging in the sandbox.

April 20th - at Nahne's house

April 19th - playing at home and bike path

April 18th - Sea Dogs game

At the Sea Dogs game with the Fieldroy crew!  Uncle Dave lined up tickets for the 12pm game and brought the four kiddos!  I was happy that it wasn't super warm because with the kids' skin issues this week and not being able to use sun screen, having to wear long sleeves was a good thing.
The kids ate a ton, watched some baseball and had a great time together.  Somehow we managed to stay well into the 7th inning and then we left so Brookles could get in a nap...which she refused to take anyway.

These games are a blast and we will definitely be going to a few more this summer!

April 17th - swollen and rashes.....

ARGHH!!!!  We had a super rough night with both kids uncomfortable and not getting much sleep.  Tucky got more than the rest of us but I bet we didn't get more than 3 hours, especially Brooke with all her scratching and tossing around.  They still had rashes this morning but I was horrified to see Tucky's fact this morning, it was so red and swollen, poor little man!

I immediately called our Dr.'s office again and then went to the store to get the kids some Benadryl.  Luckily the fevers aren't that high at all, just the swollen faces and bad rashes.  Lovely timing during our vacation break, especially with the super warm summer weather!

I cancelled our plans again and thought of ways to keep the kids entertained inside or in the shade as much as I could.  We did lego puzzles, which they both loved!  I couldn't believe how well Tuck did at reconstructing the designs I made for him, amazing!  We watched a few cartoons and just relaxed.  Brooklyn has wanted to bike all day, hopefully we'll find some shade this afternoon and we can.  It's so hard keeping these guys settled!  We have a Dr.'s appt. at 4:30pm this afternoon and luckily both kiddos are napping right now because they are just exhausted!  Momma too!

Brooklyn asked me this morning, "Momma, where did my Daddy go?  School?"  I explained that Daddy goes to work and that Mommy works in the school.  Tucky chimes in, "Yeah, Brooke, girls go to school and boys go to work."  Someone has to have a chat with this little one!  haha

April 16th - Scary morning, then Wolfe Neck State Park

We woke up this morning and planned on heading to the beach....until Brooklyn woke up and had a rash all over her face and body.  I was pretty scared a made several phone calls.  The nurse I spoke with thought that maybe she had come down with Fiths disease and I would just need to watch her to make sure the rash didn't get worse and that she didn't have a fever.  She was eating fine, playing fine and didn't seem to notice.

So I changed plans and we hung out around the house, trying to stay out of the sun for awhile.  This didn't last to long because I had mentioned going to the beach and they really didn't understand why we couldn't.  So instead of the beach, I brought them to Wolfe Neck State Park over in Freeport to explore, especially since it was "more shaded" in theory.  They were okay with this.

As soon as we got out of the car, a little blond girl ran up to us with her Auntie, it was Sage and Stacey.  Too funny!  So we hung out with them at the park and met a few of their other friends too.  We stayed for a few hours, picnicked and then the kids were fading.  I figured they'd nap on the way home and sure enough, Tuck crashed immediately, Brookie not too long after.  Instead of driving right home, I drove all over New Gloucester, Raymond and Windham checking out houses/areas I was somewhat interested in.  They kids took great naps and were super excited to be home so they could bike once they woke up.  So much for laying low....
