Tuck's first Christmas!

We spent Christmas at Grammy Lyn and Grampa Mac's. On Christmas Eve we visited with some family friends and Tuck even stayed up a little past his bedtime so he could come. He actually had a blast with all the attention he got and ended up being a little wound when Jay brought him home.

Christmas morning arrived and we actually slept in until almost 7am. We fed Tuck and then started in on opening stockings. He got some Gerber Puffs and yogurt bites and was excited with all the paper and bows. What a cutie! Someone put a red bow on his head and it stayed there most of the morning!

We all took turns opening gifts and were so excited to see Tuck's face as he received his gifts. He got a honking car toy, an antique bank, a "Tuck mobile" sled, a Radio Flyer firetruck, new outfits and Grampa Mac gave Tuck a John Deere tractor and wagon. These are similar to the antiques that Grampy collects, made heavy duty of metal, not plastic. Tuck is already a tractor lover and really liked playing with the pedal. It also has a wagon, which we filled with bows, and he was having a blast.

We tried to put Tuck down for a nap a couple times because he was visibly tired and fussy, but there was too much going on and he wouldn't go down. Finally we gave up, ate a big breakfast and let him play. He eventually did go down around 11:30 and took a really long, nice nap.

We had a nice Christmas with the whole family together! We also spent the afternoon experimenting with Amy's new gift, Guitar Hero for the Wii. It was hilarious and actually a lot of fun. Tuck loved playing with his new toys and taking turns playing with all his relatives.

Getting ready for Christmas

Tuck and I had a couple days when school got out to get ready for Christmas. We wrapped gifts, packed the car and played a lot. Here are a few pictures of Tuck playing with his tool bench and figuring out the woodstove gate.

Happy Holidays

Tuck's first Christmas card

Blueberry pancakes

Tuck had his first blueberry pancakes today! Boy did he love them and wear them all over. He isn't that interested in little Tucky food, he wants what we're having! Grammy Lyn made him special blueberry pancakes and he went nuts!

No school today so Tuck and I hung out at home. He took a great 2 hour nap and I baked, shoveled the deck and picked up the house. We tried to go for a walk but after a couple hundred yards, we turned around. It was so cold and windy, not good for little boys. Tuck didn't seem to mind the watery eyes though. We got to play a lot but Tuck was fading fast this afternoon and again was in bed by 6pm. One more day of school and then we're on vacation!

Lots of snow!!!

We are loving the snowstorms, although I wish we could get Tuck outside a little more. It's been really cold, but Tuck and I have had some great walks. Friday we walked over to Shaws and the Dollar Store. Tuck was so happy to be outside, didn't mind the cold. We hung out around the house Saturday morning to get some Christmas stuff ready and then drove up to Oakland. We did stop in Turner to hang out with Josh, Meghan and Sage for awhile too. It was great to see the two little ones interacting! Tuck hung out in Oakland today while Jay and I drove up to Sugarloaf before the storm to get in some skiing. We did have to drive back in it though, we're expecting 10"-16" of snow.

Tuck must be going through a little spurt right now because he has been sleeping a ton. He's still crashing around 6pm and lately he's been sleeping til 6:30am. This morning he got up at 7:15am!!! It's awesome. He also took naps on Friday and Saturday, around 9:30am, and each was over three hours. Normally they're much shorter, around an hour and he has two of them. Nope, we were able to get a lot done both mornings, and little Tucky was well rested! He really loves to sleep...and eat.

I think we're ready for the holidays, can't wait for Tuck to have his first Christmas!

10 months old!

Tuck's 10 months old!!!

This weekend both Jay and I went up to Sugarloaf to work, so Tucky hung out with Grammy Lyn, Grampa Mac and Auntie Janet all day Saturday. He had a great day, lots of play time of course. By the time we got home he was already asleep but it's nice knowing he had a good day.

I went back up to Sugarloaf to ski with Maine Handicapped on Sunday so Jay and Tuck spent time with EE and Papi. Again he had a great day visiting with family! Tuck's in a great stage, moving all over the place, standing up, sitting down, and just wanting to play. It's crazy how big he's grown and tough finding clothes that fit!

I walked downstairs Friday morning and Jay was getting breakfast ready. I thought he had made me a bowl of hot oatie, but it was actually for Tuck. It was a huge bowl of oatmeal, yogurt and bananas and Tucky ate the whole thing. He's eating a ton right now, but he's in constant motion so I guess he has to. He's getting really good about holding your hand and taking steps, but he has no fear. The little bugger will stand up and just let go with both hands... then take a good spill. He wants to walk badly and he's really getting strong, although he's still a bit top heavy.

Standing on all fours

Today Tuck decided to spend a good majority of the day standing on all fours. He would be crawling around and then straighten out his legs like he was going to stand up. He loves to stand up and is quite adventurous.

Nasty weather, ice storm conditions, so they let us out early. I picked him up at Cindy's and he got to take his afternoon nap at home. He woke up after 30 minutes but I rocked him back and he slept another hour! We had a lot of fun this afternoon playing. Tuck is at such a great age now and it's really a blast. We went from toy to toy, with lots of standing in between. He didn't really mess with the tree until his car went over that way and then he wanted to feel it. As soon as I said "no", he turned around and was fine leaving it alone...for now. We got out blocks and made towers. Well I made towers and he knocked them down just as fast as I build them. He loves the blocks!

I'm really happy that Tuck is starting to take interest in books. We've been reading to him since he was born, consistently part of bedtime routine since he was about 8 weeks old. He usually wants to eat them, play with the pages and wiggles out of your lap, unless he's really sleepy. Last night he cuddled with me in the rocker and we read about 6 books with him listening and just looking at the pages. It was great!

A lot of firsts this weekend!

First time sledding
First Christmas tree
First ornament and time coloring with Auntie Amy
First taste of haddock
First time opening the cabinets and then doing it over and over
First time straight up not listening to the word "no"...

We had a good weekend, Tuck got lots of attention of course hanging out with his Grandparents and Auntie's! Even with all the relatives around hanging and playing with Tuck, we were all exhausted by Sunday afternoon. Tuck is on the go...he does not want to be held, unless you're feeding him, and he is literally on a mission.

Tuck was getting into cupboards, playing with plates, trying to get close to the light on the woodstove(argh) and he must have done about 100 pull ups. He pulls up on the coffee table, lets go with one hand and then sits down. Then he does it again, and again and again. All this climbing must be increasing his appetite because besides exploring all the little man wants to do it eat...everything.

Tuck is eating a ton of big people food and he ate some haddock with his dinner Saturday night. He has pears, bananas and he loves oranges! He's eating crackers, vertically, and if you want to snack, you'd better not do it in his vicinity because if he sees you, he wants to eat.

Tuck got to go pick out a Christmas tree on Saturday and we got a perfect first tree. I put him on my shoulders so he could touch it and I can't wait to get it decorated in our house. He is going to have so much fun during the holidays, it'll be neat!

We got a little snow overnight so today Grammy Lyn was really excited to take Tuck sledding. She bought this sled before he was born and has used it as decoration until today. It was the perfect size and despite only having an inch of snow, Tuck got a nice ride. He loved it and the dogs kept circling him, he laughed of course. Then I put Tuck in the backpack and we went for a snowy walk in the woods. It was so pretty out and he just loves to be outside!

Jay was in Texas all weekend for his Orthodics exam so he didn't get to hang with us, but he'll get to watch Tucky, the little spiderman, in action this week.
