Lots of family and lots of play

What do you do one a very rainy weekend??? You play, play, play with Tuck and have family visit. He had a great weekend and got to visit with lots of family. He caught up on some naps but spent most of his time on his belly, doing 360's. He is trying so hard to crawl and has moved several feet backwards. He is a strong little bugger and we know it won't be long. It's really exciting to watch him because he gets so much stronger everyday.

On Sunday, Grammy EE came down in the morning to spend time with Tucky. He was full of energy and ready to go. Then Grammy Lyn, Grampa Mac and Auntie Janet showed up, luckily just before Tuck's nap so they could see him too. He got very tired though, after playing for a little and took a two hour nap in the afternoon. When he woke up, everyone was still there and excited to see him. Luckily the rain broke later in the afternoon and we got to bring Tuck outside and try his new stroller. He loved it because he could see. Grammy and Janet walked him back and forth in the streets while Casco chased him, it was cute.

Back to daycare today and he had a good day, two good naps. Cindy did say however, that he took two monster poops and had to change clothes after the second. Well, I have extra clothes for him there, but when I showed up, Tuck was barely wearing these gray fleecy pants, size 3-6 months. It was hilarious because they looked like fleece capris on him. I'll bring more tomorrow. Oh and the reason for the monster blowouts...Grammy Lyn bought us a food mill and we made Tuck some real fresh applesauce. He loved it and apparently his system did too!

Runny nose, new tooth and the inch crawl

Tuck still has a cold with a runny nose and a cough. Luckily it's not bothering him too much, although he does have a little trouble breathing and sleeping from 3am till we wake up. It's hard because you really can't do much, although we have added a little Vicks type plug in vaporizer thing in his room which does seem to help.

In the process as well he got his 3rd tooth and his 4th is just barely pushing through. He's munching on anything he can get his hands on, although he screams when he hits it just so. He's also been eating more, almost a whole jar of stage 2's at some feedings. He might be in a little spurt now too.

Tuck is so close to crawling now, everyday he moves a little more and gets a lot stronger. We were playing on the floor and I quickly went to the kitchen to get something. When I came back, he was about 2 feet off the mat from where he started. He moves in circles now, but it's fun to watch how he moves his toys around while he spins. This weekend we've decided that he are running out on time and we need to baby proof the house.

We heard it was going to rain hard all weekend so Jay wanted to get the lawn mowed, hopefully the last time for the season. While he was out mowing, Tuck and I stood on the deck and watched. I thought he was getting tired but when we turned to go inside, he started making a racket. So I brought him down towards Jay and he got so excited and was squealing. We watched Daddy mow and when he ran out of gas... Tuck got to sit with his Dad on the lawn mower. It was pretty cool and I know his Grampy can't wait to give him a ride on the big tractor some day too!

Anyway, today is Mommy and Tuck day. So far he woke us at 3am and had a hard time breathing, so we all were in and out until 6am. He ate a big breakfast and has been playing on the floor with Casco and I. Right now he's a bouncing maniac in the exersaucer, but I think he's getting sleepy.

Future Penobscot River Rats gathering #1

On Saturday, a bunch of longtime raft guide/skiing buddies got together at the DUNN wedding and a lot of little kiddies got to meet for the first time. It was awesome and so great to catch up with everyone. Josh and Meghan had a great day and wonderful "wedding" party! I'm picturing the Sugarloaf bunny slope in a few years, watch out!

We spent Saturday night up at Sugarloaf and did some easy maintenance on Sunday morning. I played golf with my family on Sunday and Jay got some quality Tuck time. We had a great weekend, busy, but unfortunately all three of us have some kind of cold. Luckily Tuck isn't having that bad of a time, although Jay and I just downed some Robitussin.

Back to work this week and Tuck got 1 on 1 time today at daycare because he was the only one today. He is moving so much and sits very well. Today we noticed that he got his 3rd tooth, and it's on the top. Another one next to it is very close as well.

How do you like Tuck's "Where's Waldo" picture?

Fun Friday's!

We didn't go anywhere...just Tuck, Casco and his mommy hanging out at the house all day. Now it's not even 7:30pm and I'm ready for bed. We played inside, went for a long walk, played outside in the sun, tasted a little grass and wore mommy out. Although Casco's pretty beat right now too.

I really like the extra day off every week to hang with Tuck even though he ends up sleeping a ton because he doesn't nap as long at daycare. Next time I'll chill a little while he's napping instead of getting everything around the house done because I was ready to crash and burn by the time Daddy got home! Tuck was too and he was asleep by 6:15pm.

First sniffles

So the last couple nights Tuck has had a sniffle and little cough. His nose was really runny this morning but wasn't bad at all at daycare. He doesn't seem to be bothered at all, except when I tried to clean his face this morning, he didn't like that. I know he's going to get colds at some point, but we've been lucky so far.

Tuck has inherited lots of clothes and we just pulled out a sleep sack hand-me-down he got from his cousin Evelyn! It's a pink sleep sack and Jay just about keeled over when he saw it... well not really but he laughed. Tuck didn't mind of course although I took pictures of course. I wonder what he's going to get mad at more, the shots of him in the pink sleep sack or me stuffing him in the Easter basket at 2 months old...haha

7 months old

The little man just turned 7 months old yesterday! It's hard to believe how quickly he's growing up! I was thinking today about new stages he's hit this past month, when all of a sudden, he got up on all fours and lifted his belly off the table. Yes, he was on the changing table and I was trying to put on a new diaper when he rolled over, pushed off the end and was on his knees. I couldn't believe it and was so happy, then realized that it won't be long before I'm chasing the little bugger all over the place.

Here are a couple pictures of him just before bedtime tonight, up on his hands. He's moving more and more each day. At daycare today, she said he was doing log rolls all over and kept trying to get out of her arms and play on the ground. "Little Jay" I can already tell.

Tuck's 7 months...
weighs just over 20 lbs.
is in 12 month clothing
has hazel eyes and blond hair growing in quickly
loves to eat and hasn't turned away anything yet
rolls over and over, pivots on belly and just started pushing off with knees too,
loves the water and bath time
has lots of energy, but likes to chill and observe
laughs constantly and blows raspberries
has two teeth and more very close to pushing in
loves to be outside and with his family!!!

Best buds

Casco and Tuck are really becoming such good little buddies. Wherever Tuck is, that's where Casco wants to be. If he's napping upstairs then she heads up to her bed in our room, although many times I find her sleeping outside Tuck's door. If I am playing with a toy with Tuck, Casco picks up her stuffed puppy and brings it over to us. It's really cute and I can't wait to see them in a couple months!

Tuck is really getting ansy about moving! He just wants to go and is trying so hard. He immediately flips to his belly if you put him on the floor, and he pushed his toys away, then tries to reach for them. He can pivot and stretch out. Today I saw him point his toes strong to the ground and push. He actually moved about an inch... we need to baby proof the house... yesterday. He is such a good sitter now and loves to sit and reach for things. I still put the boppy or pillows around him though, because he can be jerky with movement and falls over.

So Tucky's almost 7 months, actually on Sunday to be exact. I had him on my lap today and we were looking at pictures and he could recognize himself. Then I played a few videos from when he was a little over 2 months old and he wasn't interested until he heard his noises and laughed. It was so cute!

Bathtime is such a fun time with the Tuckster! Tonight he was going crazy, which was funny because he was getting fussy and tired just before. He was kicking so hard that the duck tub didn't hold much of the water in. He loves the water and I'm thinking about looking into swimming time this winter but we're a little worried about him getting sick or ear infections. I really don't want to risk that because he's been so healthy...knock on wood.

Anyway, I'm so psyched to have Friday's to spend with my little man. We had a great day and I love the fact that I get to just be with him!

Visiting family and friends

Lots of time visiting with friends and family, and Tuck loves every minute of it, well because of the attention of course. Auntie Amy had a great visit with the growing boy and here are a bunch of pictures...

I especially like this one because he looks like a starving baby bird!

Back to daycare today and Tuck was ready to play this morning. However when I picked him up, he was so tired because he tried corn baby food w/sweet potatoes and he was so gassy that he didn't nap well. Basically bath time was at 5pm and he was down by 6pm. Not a lot of time for Mommy and Daddy to play with him, but he almost fell asleep taking his bottle tonight so maybe tomorrow.

I do miss not being with the little bugger all day, but I know he's having fun with the other kids and he's always happy to see me, so it's okay.

Visiting with Josh, Meghan and Sage Dunn! Sage is about 7 weeks old and will be one of Tuck's skiing/kayaking buddies later on!
