Cindy had to close the daycare today to help a family member so I planned on staying home with the kids. We had an appointment to check out a preschool for Tucky for next year and it went great. He got to go to recess with the kids and really enjoyed it, while Brooklyn and I got a tour.
Then we had to go to Portland to pick up our crazy dog that escaped yesterday and ended up at the dog pound. We were all worried about Casco but she is just fine. We also hit up Walmart this morning to buy some more crafting supplies. We actually have a ton of stuff but it gets the kids in the mood and there was a particular project I wanted to work on! I'm finding a ton of ideas on pinterest and the kids have to put up with their crazy crafting Momma these days!
We started with some painting, watercolors over painters tape with their names. This was really fun, especially since the kids didn't know what to expect. Brooklyn strung some more beads on her pipe cleaner and Tuck colored on an Easter egg with crayons before painting some more. After lunch Brooklyn napped and that allowed Tucky and I to try out the Freight Train project.
I bought another canvas for him today and we practiced thumbprints before making the trains. Then we added details with a straw and some sponges, then the pom-pom puffs of smoke. He loved this!!! We added in the sharpie details after it dried. When Brooklyn woke up, we got out the play-doh and had quite the factory going! We made a few Easter eggs to dry but mostly just mixed colors and played with all the tools!
