Squealing madman...

I'm not sure how Tuck learned this overnight, but all of a sudden this morning he knew how to squeal constantly. Well, he's a noisy boy and makes loud noises often, but I've never heard him do what he did today. I got back from class and Grammy Lyn said he'd been squealing all morning, just for fun. His throat's got to hurt. He kept getting louder and louder, all for no apparent reason, it was really funny.

After sleeping on the ride home, Tuck kept up his squealing ways at our house. I really thought someone was going to knock on the door and make sure I wasn't hurting him, because it was that loud. He also got really aggressive and decided that he wanted to roll over continuously as well. He got stuck in his crib slats, rolled off his floor mat and tried to roll out of my arms as we were swinging. It was a wierd day. I knew he was tired, so I put him down and he was asleep by 6:30pm.

I hit my stores today with my coupon stash and it was a good one. Good sales and good coupons meant a lot of stuff, well for not a lot of money. Everything in this picture cost me less than $5 and I have $15 to spend next week in stores bucks. Jay's awful proud. We're totally stocked up, but I can stock others up now and stocking stuffers are done too...haha It's turning into a fun hobby, believe it or not, but I'm learning how all the stores, coupons and sales work, and saving a lot of money in the process. Jay told me he thinks I have a problem...well I can think of worse ones.

First Moosehead Trip!

What a great weekend! The weather was beautiful and we were up at Moosehead Lake with family. Grammy EE, Papi, Meacy, Dave, Evelyn, Spencer and our gang all spend the weekend hanging up in Lily Bay. There was lots of water time, swimming and kayaking, walks on the road, lounging on the hammock and swing, and fun with the cousins! It is so nice to have kids so close in age, especially in the next couple years.

We headed up Thursday night after my class, and made it around 10ish. We tried out Tuck's near car seat, but we didn't quite fit it right so the poor little man was pitched forward a little. We fixed it for the ride home... Friday the weather was great but the lake was freezing because of all the rain. We swam, but I'm sure I saw a few ice cubes float by... Meacy's crew got up later Friday afternoon and it was nice to see them. Unfortunately Tuck did not sleep at all Friday afternoon so he was a bear, until I put him to sleep!

The next couple days we played outside a lot and I got to bring Evelyn kayaking a few times. She told me she only likes to go fast...right on! I caught a fish, but Jay had to take it off the hook for me, I'm so bad at that part. We saw an eagle, lots of ducks, and really just relaxed by the lake. Tuck, Evelyn and Spencer got to play a lot and I'm so happy Tuck is getting to the age where he is aware of everything going on, and wants to be a part of it. As soon as the boys start moving, the world is totally going to open up for them, and no lounging anymore for us!

We were tired on Sunday but not as tired as Casco! She didn't make a peep on the ride home. She must have jumped off the deck into the water at least 200 times! She loves it and we love throwing her the stick. Even today she's a bit lethargic.

Great weekend!

Rainy weather - discounts - teething

Not much going on this week, it's been rainy and pretty unpredictable weather wise, so we've been hanging inside a lot. Tuck wants to play all the time! He's either playing, crying because he's hungry or sleeping. Luckily naptime is starting to consolidate a little and he's taking 2 good naps, or sometimes one long with 2 short. He won't nap in his crib though, so I've barricaded our bed and he loves sleeping there, uh oh. He is still an all night sleeper in his own room/crib, so no worries there.

So Tuck had green beans for the first time this week and loved them! He'll eat anything we put in front of him, so we have to be careful what's on the table. He'll reach for anything. He also just learned to chuck rattles across the room, and that we'll pick them up for him so he can do it again. Sign the boy up, he's got an arm! It's amazing how much force is behind it... Tuck is also becoming very aware of Casco and her every move. He reaches for her but she doesn't get too close, she keeps just far enough away but is very protective of him. Heaven forbid someone walks down our street, outside, and Casco gets her mohawk out and growls. Tuck loves this and giggles so loud when she growls. It's amazing how much he's changing!

Today we are changing out the infant car seat with the convertible. I think he'll love the extra room. Plus, I can't carry the brute around in the infant seat anymore. I'm already walking a little funny and I can feel it in my back!

Teething troubles...
Tuck got his first tooth the other day and the second is barely visible. They're bothering him a lot, so he's been a little fussy. Luckily they haven't bothered him at night at all, and he is napping really well, when I get him down. The Hyland's Teething Tablets work great and seem to help him a lot.

I found an amazing deal on diapers this week, so Tuck and I've been hitting Walgreen's regularly to pick up Pampers on clearance, and Walgreen's brand supremes for free! Yep, so far I've picked up 6 jumbo packs of Walgreen's diapers free. We haven't tried them yet, but people say they are good so we'll try them out. If not, we'll just resell them! I've also been getting pretty handy with coupons and got a ton of shampoo and other supplies free this week. I've allotted myself $50 to play with and get as many deals (free stuff) as I can and once that's gone, which could take months, I'll sell a lot of it or something. It's amazing how many deals there are out there if you are willing to spend a little time and look. One site I use gives you the weekly deals and people help each other out. It's actually a lot of fun right now, and I'm able to pick up a lot of stuff for very little or no money, especially having a little one in the family! (Everything in the picture cost me about $40, and I really only had to pay money for the Pampers...)

We're off to Moosehead for the weekend to hang with Grammy EE and Papi, as well as all of Meacy's family. It will be great for Tuck to hang with his cousins, Evelyn and Spencer!

Having a DUCKY of a time! --First tooth!

He loves his new tub! Oh yeah, Aunt Janet got him a little present the other day and we tested it out in the kitchen...it was too hot and sunny outside. Tuck kicked back, put his feet up and played with a rubber ducky...what else does a little boy need? He loved it and after he figured out how to splash we decided next time would be outside. He is definitely a water baby.

So Tuck has been drooling like a faucet for a couple weeks and he's been in some teething pain. Yesterday we bit my finger a little and he hasn't really been wanting his binky much lately either, only his fingers (or whole fist for that matter). Today while Grammy Lyn and I were giving him a bath, she felt his first tooth. We looked in and it there it was, poking through the skin. Hopefully they won't bother him for a few days now.

Hanging at Grammy and Grampy's

It's been a little crazy lately because I've had to drive to Augusta on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings for a class. Tuck has been hanging with Grammy Lyn and Auntie Amy a lot. They've been swimming a bunch in the pool, which Tuck loves!! He doesn't even mind if the pool isn't that warm and he kicks up a storm.

I went to the LLBean estore the other day and bought Tuck his first truck, yes a shiny red Radio Flyer fire truck! It's awesome and even has a beeping horn. We tested out the horn with him sitting on it and you can tell by the pictures that he thought it was the funniest thing! He's such an easy going guy.

Tuck has been very flexible with all the traveling we've done lately and doesn't really mind where he sleeps, at home or at Grammy's...sometimes even in the car. He is very active and has been rolling onto his belly now too, although he still gets stuck occasionally. Everyday he learns something new, and it's really a lot of fuN!

5 months old!

The little man is growing up fast - 5 months old today! We have been on the go so much lately and we are so lucky Tuck is flexible. He's been down to the coast, Grammy Lyn's, Grammy EE's, home and back again several times lately. He doesn't mind the car, sleeping in other places, or anything really, well unless he's hungry and no one's playing with him.

Tuck has been trying all sorts of new foods, and today we tried carrots, which he loved! So far he's had bananas, applesauce, pears and carrots. Next we'll try green beans and some of the other green veggies. He loves food and gets upset when you're eating and he's not. He'll grab for your food and you've got to watch him like crazy. He also loves spoons, and knows exactly how to get it to his mouth. It's scary really because he is just 5 months, and in the past 2 weeks, he's grown developmentally so much.

The past few days, Tuck and I went down to Penobscot to visit with some of the Baynes relatives! We had great weather, and lots of fun of course. Jay met back up with us Saturday night, and on Sunday we took everyone up to raft the Kennebec River.

Rafting the Kennebec
Jay and I were excited to get back on the river, because it's been awhile! Grammy Lyn watched Tucky, and there were 16 of us who drove north to go rafting. We rented a couple rafts from Moxie, and it's great because they have everything ready for you. We showed up at Harris Station, grabbed gear, gave a quick safety talk and hit the river. Aunt Dooley took the young ones and met us at Carry Brook. The river was running about 5000cfs, a fun level, and we had a blast.

Jay took us to Black Brook so we could jump in off the rocks. Boy did the kids love jumping off the cliff! We had a bunch of daredevils...all of 7-10 years old! Anyway, we had a great time and it was so nice to get back on the river. I miss it up there, but my body is paying for it today. I'm hoping we can take Tuck down the lower river next year! He'll love it!
