Meet the newest addition to our family...

She is finally here! We welcomed Brooklyn Annelise Roy on 12/30/09! She was born at 2:37pm, weighed 7lbs, 2 oz. and was 20 1/4" long. Mom and baby are doing well, resting and being waited on while Tuck hangs with Mimi and Grampy. Tuck is a very proud big brother and loves to say hi and hug his "baby Book" (or baby Brooke) :)
More pics to come, but here are a quick few...

Tuck's first ski!!!

Even though it was a super cold day and I am very pregnant, I had to get Tuck out of the house. We got all bundled up and started cleaning off the driveway. I asked Tuck if he wanted to try out his skis and he said, "Uh huh!" I strapped on his skis and he just started chuckling. It was hilarious but I was really happy because he seemed to like it.

At first I started by pushing him along and holding his arm but then he pushed me away. He started walking himself forward and was laughing out loud. Then we hit the backyard and there was a little pitch so he grabbed back on the me and we made it down the yard. He loved it! He didn't want to take them off but it was getting cold. I was so proud of the little man and can't wait to take him out again, especially up at Sugarloaf.

Building block towers!

Oh yes, Tuck has been having fun at home building! Mimi and Grampa Mac gave him these cardboard blocks for Christmas and he has been making towers! At first he kept knocking them over but I finally got him to help me make a big one and he actually left it alone after it was completed. It was cute because he took his little animals and people and stacked them on the blocks. He was actually very gentle too!

Mommy and Daddy gave little Tuck a few Christmas gifts a day early because we knew we wouldn't be at the house at all that day. He woke up on the 24th and we had his train table set up in the living room. So he was been building track loops and learning how the magnetic trains work. He is really into it, it's fun to watch. We also gave him a desk that we found with its own chair. Tuck has been really into coloring and he helped me fill his desk with paper and crayons. Then he drew a great picture for the fridge! We're going to keep that near the table in the dining room so he was a little place of his own, plus it's much safer than him climbing up to the table to draw!

Tuck's second Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve at MiMi's and Grampa Mac's house this year. For the past several years we've gone to visit the Lewis' up the road for a little Christmas Eve party. Tuck went last year as well, although he was much smaller. He instantly noticed the fan and the lights in their kitchen and for the whole hour or so that we were there, he obsessed about them. He was very loud and couldn't stand that the fan wasn't on... it's funny at first but he just wouldn't let go. He did, however, eat a ton of food and have a great time with everyone.

We got up early and helped get ready for Christmas while Tuck and Jay slept in a little. We had a very big day planned with Christmas time with both families! By 6:45am we had everyone up and started by opening stockings. Tuck opened one gift and then just wanted to play with it. He didn't care to open anything else, so we helped him.

Mimi made a great breakfast with the yummy fruit Annie sent us from Florida! Then we continued on with the opening of presents. Tuck was very excited and received some great gifts like his blocks, cars, John Deere tractors, ball and some clothes. What a lucky boy he is and he was very excited. It's funny though because he gets so into the one toy he opened that he wasn't really into ripping off paper and opening another. He's very content with everything.

Due to the Christmas festivities we also had planned in Portland at Aunt Meacy's house with the Roy family, we had to pack up and leave around 9:30am. Luckily we got to spend some quality time on Christmas day even though it was a little rushed. I was hoping Tuck would nap on the drive South but I think he was very excited about the day so he didn't.

We arrived at Meacy and Dave's around 10:40am and they were all still in pj's. EE and Papi had just arrived too so it worked out well. Evelyn and Spencer were very excited about Christmas so they didn't let us sit long before we opened up stockings and got started. It was fun to watch the kids together and obviously they were very excited. Tuck again was more interested in playing with whatever toys were around so Evelyn helped him open his presents. We all had a great time and received some wonderful gifts. It was nice to have everyone together because we don't get to very often.

The kids had a very good time playing with everyone and after a very filling lunch, we got them to bed. We had Tuck try out his new toddler air mattress and I think he liked it because he slept for 2 hours...well that and he had a busy day and was probably very tired. After naps we visited with more family, took a walk, and just played, played, played. We ended up staying for dinner leftover as well and finally around 7:30pm, we put Tuck in pj's and drove home. He had an awesome day with family but was he tired. He hit the sack instantly and that finished off a great Christmas.

I'll add more pics when I get them. I spent more time taking videos and when I figure out how to take clips of those, I'll add them too.

Grandpa's trains

We were up at Grampa Mac and "Mimi's" house this weekend while Jay worked ski patrol up at the mountain. First thing Saturday morning he was back at the Christmas tree and the lights. Once again the little tree up in the window was not lit up and Tuck had a fit. He doesn't forget a thing...

After breakfast Grampa Mac pulled out some of his old Lionel trains from storage and set them up under the tree. Tuck was very interested, especially when Grampy got the trains going. He sat on Grampy's lap and watched for awhile as the train went round and round. It was really cute.

I don't think Tuck totally understands the whole Christmas thing yet but he sure is into the lights and the train under the tree now too. Oh yeah, he likes the ornaments too!

Party at Auntie Janet's - Uncle Trap's Xmas

On Sunday we all gathered at Auntie Janet and Uncle Trap's house in Topsham for an early Christmas celebration. Trapper had to ship out before the holidays so she had a get-together at their house.

We all showed up at their house around 2pm and Auntie J had the house all spiffed up, the tree decorated with lights and food galore. It was nice to have everyone together and Trapper's family and the Busque's also came down for the festivities. Tuck was in rare form, running from room to room and very excited about the tree. Well, he was excited about the food too of course.

We had a nice Christmas celebration with Uncle Trap and then to our surprise, there was a little baby shower for Baby Brooklyn as well. We're about 3 weeks out from her arrival and we are all very excited. Tuck also had a little early Christmas and was very entertained by his new trucks and tractor! It doesn't take much to entertain him, he's pretty easy going and keeps himself busy!

We stayed well into the evening and decided to put Tucky in his pj's and hope he would fall asleep on the way home. It was a great party and we all had a very good time!

Watching Daddy and big news!!!

We had our first snow day of the year yesterday and it was really nice to stay home! Tuck and I had a great day and started it off by not getting up until 8:15am!! We stayed put because it was so nasty outside, although we did venture out for a quick trip to Walmart. After lunch Tuck took a nice, long 2 1/2 hour nap...rare occurrence. Daddy got out a little early and as soon as he got home, he pulled out the snowblower. Tuck and I thought about going out as well, but decided we'd stay inside and watch from the window. I couldn't resist the picture!!!

Today was a big day for Mr. Tucky because he had big news to share when I picked him up from Cindy's today! Apparently he grabbed his diaper to tell Cindy he needed to be changed. He then pointed to the bathroom so she let him go in and try. His diaper was totally dry and once he sat on the potty, he did his first official pee!!! She was so happy and the kids made a big deal out of it for him. She let him pick a color to start his official chart. Of course he said, "Blue!" He started saying that last week! We're not pushing this at all right now but I'm super proud of the little guy. It helps to be around bigger kids all day, he's picking up some good info, and a few bad habits too...

Weekend at home - first snow and Christmas tree

Busy weekend! We had a lot on the agenda especially with the holidays coming up and expecting a little girl around New Years. Saturday was really nice out so Jay took Tucky outside. He wanted to finish splitting some wood so he set Tuck on the trailer to watch. I looked out and saw him sitting there and it was so cute. Jay said he was really excited and just watched for awhile!

Tuck was recovering all weekend from a slight temperature on Thursday so we made sure he slept a lot. He was doing pretty well and had a good bit of energy still. Luckily Grammy Lyn, Grampa Mac and Uncle Jeffy stopped down to visit so we had Uncle Jeffy wear him out a little. Boy does he love company! He gets very excited and really loves people!

We woke up Sunday to a fresh 3 inches of snow! Tuck was very excited and when he looked out the window, he saw the moon and became more excited. "Moon, look", he says. In the past two weeks he has picked up so many words and is using them non-stop.

After spending the morning organizing upstairs, we can now say that we are more officially ready for the little girl. Jay set up the crib, changing table and we have a bookshelf ready for her clothes. Tuck really liked to help with that too. We also reorganized his room a little and moved the futon into there. I am feeling much better about everything now.

We bundled Tuck into his snowsuit and brought him outside to play in the snow. He didn't hesitate at all and grabbed an ice scraper to help Jay clean off cars. It was so cute, he wants to be just like Daddy. Then we walked around back to work on the deck and he explored a little. He liked walking in the snow, even though it was hard work for a little man, but when he fell he had a hard time getting back up. It reminded me of a deer learning to walk, it was funny. He wanted to stay outside for awhile too.

Tuck took a rare 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon! After he woke up we decided to do the Christmas decorations thing. Jay brought the tree in the house and pulled boxes from the attic. Tuck and I sorted through ornaments and amazingly he picked one up and hung it from the tree. I couldn't believe it because I'm not sure how he realized to do it. Little smarty!

The funniest part though was when we put the lights on the tree. As soon as we turned them on, he walked over and tried to blow them out! It was hilarious because he is really into blowing out candles, blowing the humidifier steam, etc. There is never a dull moment around here!

We finished off the weekend with a big dinner, which Tuck ate a ton of, then he had a nice bath and after 3 books I just laid him in the crib. He has his blanket and little bunny and that was that. He cried when I walked out for 30 seconds and that was it, tired little man. He's really been very easy to put down lately and loves his book reading routine with Daddy. It's been hard for me to rock him lately with the huge protruding belly, bonding time for the boys.

Thanksgiving Weekend fun

This year Thanksgiving was with the McMullin's so on Wednesday morning, Tuck and I drove up to Oakland to hang out. He instantly found all the tractors and amused himself all afternoon with them. Jay came up after work and pretty much everyone except Uncle Trap was there by dinner.

Grammy had planned on 33 relatives coming over for Thanksgiving dinner so we all tried to help get ready. I'm not exactly a big cook or anything, but I did try making a sweet potato casserole, it actually came out pretty good. Anyway, around noon everyone started showing up and pretty soon the house was full. A lot of my cousins have kids around the same age as Tuck so they had a ball. I wasn't sure how well he'd share being it his "territory" but he did well and the kids had a lot of fun. Luckily we had him nap before the big feast so he was full of energy and really had a great time.

Jay and Tuck stayed out of the Black Friday early morning festivities, but I got up at 4:30am with Grammy and Grampa Mac and we hit Augusta. There were lots of good deals and I got most of my Christmas shopping done. The weather was really nasty out so unfortunately we had to spend the rest of the day inside. Luckily Tuck can keep himself pretty entertained with tractors so he just played. Auntie Amy, Auntie J and Uncle Jeffy all took turns playing with little man and he was not shying away from the attention. Lucky little man!

On Saturday the weather wasn't much better so it was much of the same. Tuck really wasn't sleeping well all night but luckily he napped very well! Grammy Lyn and I brought him into Fairfield to get his first official hair cut and he sat really still. I was very impressed because he definitely did not sit that still for me. His hair looks really cute and he looks like a big boy now.

Grammy Lyn took Tuck and I out to Wendy's for lunch because he was such a good little boy and Tuck got to dip his french fries in ketchup. He is all about dipping things, it's really funny. He's also decided that he doesn't need a high chair anymore and sat on the bench seat with Grammy. Someone thinks he's a big boy for 21 months. After lunch we made a quick CVS stop and pushed Tuck around in the car cart. That was an adventure but he was pretty easy going and was up for anything.

Jay, Tuck and I went over to Mike and Kim's later that night for dinner. They got to experience a piece of his "not so indoor voice" because he was very focused on the ceiling fans. He gets stuck on one thing and doesn't let it go. It's funny but can also be very loud. Kim made us a big lasagna and we hung out for awhile, until Tuck got really sleepy.

Today was a beautiful day and luckily we got Tuck outside early on. He was ready to go out and play. Everyone was doing something outside so he took his car and drove all around the yard. Around 10am we drove over to Waterville to visit with Grammy EE and Papi. We played tractors inside and had a nice lunch. Tuck loves to watch all the birds and fish in the house too.

After a nice visit, Tuck got his nap in the car as we drove to Wiscasset to drop off a car and then home. We had some serious unpacking to do when we got home and we also had to warm up the house because Jay likes to turn the furnace off when we go away. We played for awhile, ate some turkey soup Grammy Lyn made us, had a bath and then Tuck was in bed by 7pm. It was a fun weekend visiting family but it's also nice to be home. Hopefully Tuck sleeps all night in his own bed...
