This was our first trip down to the coast this year and we were all excited! Tuck and I headed down Friday with Auntie Janet, who we met in Auburn. We made a couple stops but got down to Penobby with plenty of daylight, and time for Tuck to play before bed. Jay drove down after work and arrived around 8pm. Tucky stayed up a little later but was beat and went to bed around 7:30, which is later for him.
Tuck slept really well and we all slept in until about 7am. Grampa Mac had his famous breakfast going by the time we made our way downstairs. It was cool out so they had the woodstove going and it had rained a little as well. No rush to get outside. Plus you could see the mosquitos in herds just outside the door, not good for fresh little skin! After breakfast we had Tuck play inside because it was way too wet and buggy outside. He was definitely entertained and loved playing with his family. Somehow in the mix he learned to climb onto the coffee table and ottoman. Yikes. Luckily we were all in the same room and he couldn't wander off into any dangerous places.
As the day progressed, the sun peeked out and we lubed Tuck up with bug dope and a Bounce sheet. Apparently the Bounce dryer sheet repels bugs. Grampa Mac got out the tractor and Tuck instantly wanted to go for a ride. He's not psyched about lawn mower tractors, I think because of the sound, but he loves the big tractor. I rode in the wagon as Grampa gave us a ride and Tuck loved it. The video tells it all!

The Viles came down to visit and we got to hang with Uncle Forbes and cousin Andy. Lots of time outside playing with dogs, driving trucks in the sand/water table and golf cart rides. Once we introduced the little guy to the golf cart again, all he wanted to do was go for a ride. When the ride was over, he'd cry and someone else would give him a ride. We're creating a monster... he loves it. We also spent a lot of time down at Auntie Janet's and Uncle Trap's new house. It's really coming along well. Jay helped work on the tiling and installing vanities, so we took many trips back and forth in the golf cart.

We also explored the shore and found some clam and muscle shells. Tuck threw rocks in to the ocean and would have walked right in if I wouldn't have caught him in time. He is drawn to water. It was too cold to go in the boats but we did spend most of the weekend outside exploring. When Tuck gets up, he walks to the door and says "Ow", short for out. He wants to go outside constantly, a real Maine boy. Unfortunately the bugs were awful so it will be really nice when they clear out!
Tuck is going to love it down here this summer and I can't wait to get him back. Great weekend!
