January 30th - "Daddy hat"

The kids had some Daddy time this morning before he had to pack and leave for a conference in Las Vegas all week.  They played trains and had a ball.  When I picked up the kids from Cindy's this afternoon, she said Brooklyn had been wearing his hat all day, all except for naptime.  So she continued to wear it tonight and didn't want to take off her Daddy hat....too cute!  The kids wanted to say "night night Daddy" and we sent him this picture!

They were also so good tonight for me, I was quite pleased!

Sugarloaf skiing pictues - big day for the kids!!!

So proud of these guys!

Tuck's first Whiffletree run and he did so well, super turns Tuckyman!

Brooklyn's first "real" day on skis and she was an animal.  She took 6 runs, skied a little on her own and had a tantrum when it was time to take the skis off!!
"Ski fast, more fast Mommy!"  "More jump!"

It was such a great day!

January 29th - time with Mimi and Poppi

Fun at Mimi and Poppi's house while Mommy and Daddy were working/skiing at Sugarloaf.  The kids have been wanting to spend some time at Mimi and Poppi's and they sure got it this weekend.  They got a lot of Nahne and Auntie Amy time too!Funny quote from the day!!
While eating lunch, Brooklyn put her hands out and said "Grace."  Then Tucky added that Nahne had to do it too.  In his high pitched voice, he said "Thanks for the happy meal, for being at Mimi and Poppi's house, for playing trains and some time outside, although it was a bit breezy, amen."  How funny!  Those kids just crack us up!

"Poppi, you need this tank car!"

"Poppi, which passenger car would you choose?"

"Nahne, which diesel is your favorite?"

January 27 - snow day at Mimi's and Poppi's

January 26

Silly car games on the way to and from Cindy's house. I believe Brookie was saying, "Up high, down low."

January 25 - Chicka Chicka 123

The kids have been doing great this week but they're so tired when we get home.  Tonight it was quick dinner, bath and book.  Tuck's favorite book is "Chicka Chicka 123."  Both kids love the book and then at the end, he touches each number as he counts to 100!  Yep, this was not brought on by Mommy the teacher, this is all Tucky driven!  Now Brooklyn is even counting and she knows the book almost by heart too!

When the book says, "Chicka Chicka 123, will there be a place for...." she yells out "ME!"  It's too funny!

January 24 - Happy 60th Poppi!

After all that late night painting, we had some tired kiddos this morning!

January 23 - paint and water

The kids working on a painting project for Poppi's birthday and Brooklyn's favorite activity.... water at the kitchen sink.

"Mommy I'm doing a lot of work, practice makes perfect!"

January 22 - outdoor sports weekend!

What a weekend!  Granted it was way too cold to ski at the mountain, we did manage to get in a bunch of outdoor sports activities.  We experimented with skiing our road at camp, snowshoeing, and lots of sledding!  The camp road skiing was awesome, plowed lightly so it was just like a groomer.  Plus, it's steep and narrow, perfect for practicing those turns.  Tucky did so well and it was so much fun.  Daddy and Brookie gave us rides back to the top and that will be an awesome option this winter, a lot less logistics!

We went sledding on our big hills and snowshoeing on the trails.  Tucky and I found some great trails and one ended up with a spectacular view of the mountains!  It really is so beautiful up there!

We also decided to head home and not ski today.  It was super cold again and we were anxious to play at home too.  Daddy and Tucky spent all afternoon on the snowmobile!

Tucky came inside and said, "GUYS, we went on an adventure!"

Brooklyn and Mommy watched the Pats game, she was not into putting on her snowsuit at all.  We're all loving those winter sports...and we've started a sled launcher, Tucky's interested in a sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobile birthday party next month...

January 21 - Skiing the road at camp

Who needs the mountain on a cold day? Tucky and I just skied two new runs at camp....
1) Mountain Road trail
2) Deer Pond trail
Both are access roads to our camp but there's always fresh snow on them and they skied just like a groomed today! Tucky named them with me and they are lift serviced by the 05 Subaru Outback and our fabulous chaffeurs, Daddy and Brookles!

Too much fun!!! We can't wait for the next snowstorm!

January 20th - snow at home

Two hour delay and some time outside in the snow before school. Tucky helped our neighbor shovel and both helped me with our driveway.

While shoveling and chatting with my neighbor, Tucky turns to me in a stern voice and says, "No time to talk Mommy, we have WORK to do!"

January 19th - Mimi's birthday

Having a little ice cream tonight in honor of it being so cold. I much prefer eating ice cream before the cone but both kids are demolishing their cones and haven't touched the ice cream yet. Next time will be a cone party I guess.

Today is also Mimi's birthday and Brooklyn left her a lovely voicemail this morning with her own rendition of the Happy Birthday song.

Brooklyn has also started wanting to high 5 everyone and I hear "up high, down low" throughout the day!  It's really cute and at least she's working on opposites.... After dinner tonight, Tucky asked for a dance party, the kids love to dance!  We can't wait for Uncle Jeffy and Danielle's wedding, now they'll really be able to get their groove on.

January 18th

Pizza party with Mommy!

Daddy went to pick up some more of his cheap oil so they kids and I had a little pizza party of our own.  Tucky has been asking for pizza whenever he gets the chance.  The "kid without taste buds", as I've called him, is now starting to have some preference!
